1. Setting Up The Sax

Welcome to the first of your three free lessons, taken from the Ed Sax School Beginner Sax Course.

Today we are going to look at how to set up the instrument.  As you'll notice when you open your case, there are a few bits to put together.  The lesson below should help...

Homework

Practise setting the saxophone up and putting it away again, carefully. You will get very fast at this eventually but it is a good habit to get into to set it up and put it away each time you play it because then you get really fast at it.

The other day, I was called onto a stage and my sax was still in its box as he was announcing me. I managed to get the entire process down to around 15 seconds and I was adjusting the strap as I was walking ont o the stage!

You’ll get faster as you go but for now, follow the rules and do it carefully.
